Operated in the early evening, during the
summer months of July and August, the Twilight Bus Tour offers over-night visitors an
informal, relaxed tour of unique Moosonee, Ontario - population 2800. Situated on the edge
of one of North America’s last, unspoiled wilderness, Moosonee presents visitors with
a fascinating look into modern, frontier life.
Our escort/driver conducts visitors on a
two hour
guided tour of
this isolated northern settlement, explaining key historical, ecological and geographical
points of interest along the way. This tour also offers guests staying in Moosonee
complimentary pick-up and return to their respective hotels.
*Incidentally, though the origin of the
name "Moosonee" has been lost over time, the generally accepted source is
the Cree word "moosoneek" meaning "to the Moose (River)".
